Introducing ... The Hill Family Christmas Tree!

Our tree is decorated! We have had it up since before Thanksgiving, but we just now put on the finishing touches. As some of you from Cali know, I go ALL OUT in my house for Christmas and I have not even begun to finish everything. I know my deadline is Thursday because we are having our new neighbors over for dessert on Friday night. (About 5 families) The dinner and salad are being served at other houses on our street. Better known as a "Progressive Dinner." I am excited to get to know everyone, but the pressure is on to have everything done! This year was really fun decorating the tree because Poopie was so involved. He seems to understand how important decorating is to me bacause he hasn't touched anything he is not supposed to! I'm also happy that I am starting to let go of my controlling ways. (a little) In years past, I have gone back after the kids and "fixed" their tree decorating until it was perfect. :) Now, I actually think it is more beautful to see what they have created. I will be honest... I still offer "placement advise..." lol! And wouldn't you know, after 12 years of helping me decorate, Eric is becomming quite the design guy! :) lol! This is not a title he would like to me say out-loud, so I am putting in on my post! lol! Sorry Honey! Just giving you a little credit where credit is due. :)

McKinney Light Parade

Last night, we went to our first ever McKinney Light Parade. Is was our first "town" event and it was really nice. Poopie was not feeling well, but he was still facinated by the lights. Andi and Miguel had fun getting candy from some of the floats and telling everyone Merry Christmas. To top it off, we were able to see and say Merry Christmas to Santa! It was a nice family outing...

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Hello friends and family! We had a great Thanksgiving Day. We really missed our families in California, but we had our niece Samantha with us and having family here really made the day special. We went to our friend's the Halladay's. They have a big Thanksgiving with everyone who does not have family in Texas. The kids had a blast playing and we really felt the warmth of the holidays. To top off our day, we took a little drive through our downtown area to look at the Christmas lights. (I have posted a pic of the tree lined street) Last but not least... the lights on our house are up and shining! I hope this day finds everyone in good spirits and good health! Without further delay... Here are pics of our day...

Andi was Baptized on November 3rd!

It was a very nice day for the family. Andi took the "eternal dive" (lol) and I was very proud of her. The best part was that she was baptized by her Dad. I am very proud of my husband for being such a great dad and for being worthy to baptize our daughter. This day was a little bitter sweet because it is the first "big moment" for us here in Texas that we did not have our old Ward (church) members with us. We are making such wonderful new friends here in our new Ward as you can see from the pics of those who participated in Andi's baptism, but my heart still aches for our "old" ward family. That same night we went to a church activity that was held on a farm where we made Smore's and took a hayride. At the end of the day, we were all so tired, but it was a great day.

Later that night...

Poopie

Poopie is talking more and more. I don't have it on this clip, but he can also say Pumpkin, Fire Truck, and he just learned to say... NO!!!! Yipee. I was not waiting for that one. lol! Anyway, here is my baby...

I thought I would throw in these pics to remind me of how far he/we have come. He was soooo small when we brought him home... 4lbs 11oz. Now he is bigger than any of the kids his age. They moved him to the two year old class at his school last week because he was to big to be with the "babies" in his own age group. Where has my little fragile baby gone?

Meeting Poopie for the first time... He was 3 days old. We took him home that same night. I have to say that the moment caputured in this pic was a difining moment in my life.
Poopie at 5 days old. He was in a Pack-N-Play that our friend Amy Frandsen let us borrow. Since we had not idea we were getting a baby that night, everything we had was borrowed. Thank goodness for our friends from our Church and our families.

Poopie's adoption in December 2006. Everyone here with us is a really special part of our church family. We RELLY miss them.

Ok. I think I am finished with my Poopie Post. Why does time have to fly by so qucikly as a parent? Andi is getting baptized tomorrow and Miguel has grown almost two inches since his last DR's visit. Slow down time! At this rate, they will all be getting married right around the corner. Oh Man, I am soooo old. The big 3-0. To me, I feel like I graduated High School last week. How can I be 30? I am going to go now and bury my head in the sand for a while. Have a nice day. :)
