Misc. last week...

Last week Poopie went on a play date to the Hafen Home. I enjoyed ADULT conversation (which means no singing or talking about the Dora theme song)and Poopie no doubt enjoyed learning the concept of sharing. He still needs to work on that... :)

On another note, my friend Lisa Y. sent me some really cool placemats when we first moved here, and honestly, I had no idea where they were. Andi came accross them the other day and was so excited to set the table with the "Texas" placemats. She was so proud. She made little bow tie napkins out of paper towels to put in the middle. So thanks Lisa, one year later your placemats are a Hill Family hit! :)

Very Sad...

Tonight, the president of our church passed away. He was a wonderful man who did wonders for not only our church, but for the world. I will miss seeing him speak.
This news has come as a total shock to me tonight. I don't have much to say...

Baby It's Cold Outside...

Big Boy Potty!

Poopie went on his new potty today for the first time. He didn't actually "go", but he asked me to get it out of the box and said he wanted to "go-on-potty." Who is going to say no to that? I always tell everyone that he is JUST like Eric, and he proved that to be true yet again today when he picked up the paper... :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COUSIN SHANNON!

My Dear Cousin turned 30.... something yesterday. This is the same cousin who is posting some great low-cal recipes on her family web site for me in order to help with my weight loss. Even all the way from California she managed to be very active in supporting me. Here's to you Cousin Shannon! The world is a greater place because of you!

Rub-A-Dub-Dub, Poopie in the Tub

Eric usually has bath duty for Poopie, but tonight I got to give him his bath so I took a few pics and one little video. He is so big it is hard to believe that he will just turn two in Feb. Anyway, here is my bath tub baby!

I've had some people who are new to this site (and computers) ask me which pics are actually videos. Sooo... THE PIC BELOW IS NOT A PIC. IT IS A VIDEO. This video has sound so please have your speakers on if you would like to hear. To view, please click twice on the arrow located at the bottom left corner of the pic/video. Thanks and Enjoy!!!

My Phone Tag Partner

I have a friend named Jean and we have been in a year long game of phone tag. :) Jean and her family were friends/neighbors of ours in California before we moved. They moved to PA about 6 months before we moved to Texas. Since then, trying to reach eachother on the phone is so hard! It was much easier to catch up when we lived about 7 houses down from eachother. I thought I should post a "Hi" to her so she knows I miss her! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEE!!!!

I have a great friend named Dee who for years was my Angel Game buddy before I moved to Texas. We have been to Championship games and even the World Series. This is the same friend who last summer flew all the way from California to Texas just to go with me to an Angels vs Rangers game because I was sad to be missing our usual summer games. Her birthday was yesterday but I thought that a Happy Birthday mention on my site was the least I could do for such an awesome friend!

The pics below are taken from the seats we had at the Rangers vs Angles game. It was the closest I have ever been to the Angel dugout! Naturally, the Angels won. Most all teams do against the Rangers! :)

Mom Came to Visit

Three days after Christmas my Mom, her husband Greg, and my niece Elena came from California to visit us! The kids were very excited to see them. It has been a year since we have seen Greg and Elena. (My mom was out last February) On the first day of the visit they arrived later in the evening so we met up at a really nice rustic place for dinner. The next morning we had them over for a long visit at the house before we went to the park. Days two and three are on the following two posts. We had a great time and hope they visit again soon!

It was my mom's birthday on Christmas Eve so we had the staff sing to her. :) To see the video, please double click on the arrow below...

Day Two of Visit with Mom - A Day at the Park

On day two, we had a picnic at a park. It was VERY cold but the kids had a lot of fun. Later that night, My Mom and Greg went on a little date to have sushi and we were able to watch Elena. Poopie loved watching her but Elena seemed to really bond with Andi.

Mom's Last Day

On the last day of the visit with my Mom, Greg and Elena, we went to a place called Pizza Planet. The kids love a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Greg because they get to go places we normally can't afford! :) All the kids and adults had a nice time. My mom took Elena on the rides with her. Poopie was not having anything to do with the rides. As a matter of fact, he was crying the ENTIRE time for his Brother and Sissy thinking these rides were going to somehow take them away... :) It was a great visit and we were glad to have them.
