From sad to glad

Today Poopie asked me if his friends were coming over today for his birthday party. I told him today was not his birthday and I got this face...

He asked me if his birthday was tomorrow and I said he still has to wait for seven more days. Then, this was the face I got...

Then I told him not to worry because we are going to invite our neighbors over for his party next Saturday. His face changed to this...

Finally I told him I would get "Monster Truck" plates. That did it. :)

Brothers at the Doctor

This was yesterday. Miguel was getting his check-up and Poopie was patiently waiting for his turn to see the Dr. (Poopie has a little virus and should be better in a few days.)

Ice, Ice Baby

:) If you are as old as I am, you will know where the title words come from... lol Anyway, we had an ice storm start last night that covered our area. You could hear it hitting the house. Eric and the kids did not have to go to school today. :) So last night, we cuddled up by the fire to enjoy this weather. Even the cats got into it by cuddling up together in the one of the kids laundry basket. lol You can always tell that we are not from Texas because we LOVE all the different weather stuff we get here that we didn't get in Cali.

Above: Eric was telling Poopie about football stuff. In other words, a bed time story. :)

I got to watch these munchkins today

I was watching two of my friend Haley's kids (the older one was in school) and they were so fun. Poopie had a ball playing with Jada and the baby happily followed Poopie around all day.:)

Bed head

I LOVE this wild hair in the morning! :)

BTW, Poopie is 100% potty trained! We don't have trouble going anywhere. In fact, at church this past Sunday he told his nursery teachers that he had to go potty and then patiently waited for one of them to get Eric to take him. :) When he is outside playing, he will come in and tell me he has to go potty. That three day potty training thing was GREAT! No, your child will not be fully trained in three days, but it was done in about a week for Poopie. Not bad at all! :)

Poopie is famous AGAIN! :)

Poopie's pic was picked for use in an advertisement on BabyCenter. :) I was so proud! It was a pic taken on Valentines Day last year. My baby was picked out of ALL the pics they have access to on this super large site so I am happy to brag. :)

Here are a couple of pics from the screen. The ad is on the right.

Here is the original picture I took last year.

Warning!

DO NOT call this house between the hours of 7-10pm. LOST season premiere is on tonight and we will need those three hours to watch it, then discuss all it hidden meanings. I WILL disown anyone who calls during those hours. :)

3 day potty training results

Well... the "3 day potty training thing" was somewhat successful. I followed it to a "t" and Poopie has not had any night time or nap time accidents, but he has had one pee accident on the first day and three poop accidents. He pooped all the way in his potty for the first time today and he has not had any pee accidents since the first day. He does not need a diaper or a pull up. The only reason why I say he is not fully potty trained is because he does not TELL us when he has to go. He will hold on to his pee-pee or tell me he wants to give me a hug. lol When he actually TELLS us he has to go, we will consider this a done deal. As of now, I put him on the potty every hour or so, or when he is showing some signs. He is able to not go between potty breaks so that is GREAT! We wake him up at night around 11pm and have him pee & don't give him any more drinks about two hours before bed. Then, we have him pee right when he wakes up. All in all, I am happy with the results. He now empties and cleans his own potty & washes his hands. :) (pics below) Sorry for the gross pic of pee above, but I love how he wants to do it himself. :)

Historical Moment!!

Poopie and I closely watched today's events. Our family is so happy that hope and faith have been restored to this great nation & the world today. We appreciate the service of our previous leaders, but know that this historical moment will move the US back to greatness.

Potty training continued...

So far we are on day 2. Poopie has only had two major accidents. One pee and one poo-poo. He did tell me he had to go but we could not get to the potty fast enough. That seems to be our one major hurdle. He starts going before he tells me, but he will finish on the potty. We'll see what day three brings...

Above: the potty was in my room because we woke him up last night at around 11pm and then first thing this morning to go so the potty was in my room so we would not have far to take him from his room. Guess what? It worked! No accidents over night!

Below: A cute pic of Brother reading to Poopie. The kids have been so good with all this. they really make a big deal when Poopie goes in the potty. He really looks up to Brother and Sissy so it helps to have them help out with the enthusiasm.

3 day potty training

My friend sent me an e-mail with a plan for three day potty training... since the kids are off school and Eric is off on Monday, we are trying it now. No more diapers no matter what. Cold turkey. He's in big boy underwear that he picked out with Daddy last night. :) He keeps asking to have pants on but this "3 day thing" says no pants so you can see if they start to have an accident and you can rush them to the potty to finish. Anyway, pretty son he will need a big boy bed too. We want to try and get this all done by the time Baby Girl arrives which is in less than 30 days! Where is my baby boy????? He is so big. :) I melt when I look at him. I feel sorry for his future wife. She has no idea what kind of roll I will play in his life... lol :)

It's a Bird, It's a Plane, NO! It's a Hot Air Balloon right over our house!

I LOVE that there are very active hot air balloon enthusiasts that live around here! lol We see hot air balloons all the time, but never RIGHT over our house. We were able to wave to them and the kids were very excited. I must thank my great neighbor Sherry for calling us and telling us to go outside. Here's a couple of pics and a short video... We could even hear the roar of the air going in. Way cool! Thanks Sherry! I have to point out the beautiful blue skies. What a nice day.

Just Chillin' & watching football with Daddy

California Dreamin'

Today reminded me of what it was like when we lived in So. Cal. It really made me miss home. Don't get me wrong, I love that it gets cold here and the super hot days in Cali don't happen here, but I loved the 70 degree weather. Tonight, the kids were out in the back yard playing with sidewalk chalk with no jackets. In my mind, I began drifting away to our Rancho Cucamonga house... sitting on the porch stoop while the kids played in the front yard... chatting with neighbors... listening to the trees, feeling the warm air, my feet in the grass... IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. :) But then... the next day was 90 degrees so I quickly wake up from my daydream happy to be here in Texas. Don't get me wrong, the weather changes drastically here too... from cold to warm. Not from "very warm" to "fry an egg on the ground" super hot. hahaha

So, here's to Cali. I am missing you today.

p.s. - Doesn't Miguel have the BEST fake smile in the world? Ask this kid to smile and he will make it look like he just won a million dollars! :)

I also want to add that today is my dear friend Dee's birthday! Even though I moved, she never forgets to send me cards for EVERY occasion and she always there for me. As a matter of fact, she sends me my first Christmas card every year. this year I got it BEFORE I got my Halloween card. Ahhhh... she is part of my heart. lol Happy Birthday Dee!!!!

This is cool about Baby Girl

pregnancy calendar

Awww...

Deep freeze!

We had a big freeze yesterday. My entire van was covered in ice. I had to break the ice to open the door handle. Not something we are used too coming from Southern Cali. :)

Here is Baby Girl!

For Christmas, Christina gave us the cd from her sonogram she had two weeks ago. The cd video doesn't allow you to save to your computer so I took a video of a video with my cheap camera so please excuse the quality. None the less, you can see how cute she is! :)

Happy 2009! Our New Year's Eve...

First, we went to Girl and Rick's for a cool party. The kids had sooo much fun and the company was great! Then, we stopped by Mr. Nick's for about 15 minutes where we had s'mores. Once home, we celebrated and then the big moment came... 12 o'clock! Poopie and Miguel made it, but Andi didn't. lol We toasted 2009 with some apple cider and exchanged kisses. ;) Happy New Year everyone! Below: Poopie was dancing to the fireworks music :)
