Our Christmas Activity Night. :)

We started our night with the annual Downtown McKinney Christmas Parade. (You know I like to take advantage of all the free events the city offers) It was so much fun. There were floats with tons of lights and the people in the floats were throwing out candy to the kids. (I might have eaten a few Reeses that the kids didn't quite catch... :) My FAVORITE float was the "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" float. Naturally, my camera battery died before I could take pics of the entire float, but I did get the house and a GREAT pic of "Cousin Eddy" in his robe. LOL!!!! The second half of the float had Clark reading to his family around a burned tree. :) Most of you know that "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" is my all time favorite movie. I have the ENTIRE movie memorized so this float made my night... :)

Anyway, after the parade, we headed over to the nativity display at our church. Every year the Church displays thousands of nativities from all around the world. It is open to every denomination and features entertainment from high school choirs, choirs and ensembles from different churches of all denominations. It is BEAUTIFUL and really gets you into the true meaning of this season. So... tonight we made lasting memories. We didn't spend any money and yet we managed to enjoy the Spirit of Christmas and spend real quality time together.

That looks like a really fun night. Those are the best, aren't they? They don't cost a thing, but create wonderful memories to last the year through.
